Sheetal is a dual qualified lawyer (UK and India) with over seven years of experience in corporate and private client immigration. She qualified in 2011 and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper's immigration team in 2015, having previously worked for two other City based firms.

Focusing particularly on Tier 2 and Tier 1 of the points based system, Sheetal also has experience of advising on complex immigration applications. Her expertise includes providing guidance to businesses on their immigration and global mobility programmes with an emphasis on compliance obligations, prevention of illegal working provisions and the implications of corporate restructuring. 

She has represented corporates from the oil and gas, retail, legal, financial, technology and management consulting sectors. Sheetal regularly conducts training for businesses on various immigration topics.

Recent work highlights

  • Advising a global trading company on the impact of corporate restructuring on its sponsor licence and the transfer of employees from another corporate entity.
  • Auditing the HR practices of several corporates and advising them on the key areas of compliance to ensure that their systems and processes are fully PBS compliant.
  • Assisting a multinational health service company on transferring a high number of its overseas staff to the UK. The project was time sensitive and required representations to UK Visas and Immigration.
  • Advising a global company on the prevention of illegal working provisions in relation to the hire of a new employee.
  • Successfully handling a private client application for an unmarried partner of a British national with an adverse immigration history.
