Peter is a partner in the construction and infrastructure team in London, specialising in construction and related insurance disputes. Recognised by The Legal 500 as 'an energetic and effective litigator', he is highly experienced in resolving disputes arising on building, infrastructure and other engineering projects. He regularly advises employers, contractors, subcontractors, professionals and insurers on claims and dispute avoidance during projects and, where required, represents clients in all types of litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation.

Peter has particular expertise in the use of adjudication to resolve interim applications, final account disputes and other issues. He acts for clients on managing the consequences of major events such as fire or escape of water and following the discovery of defects post completion, dealing with the initial consequences and investigations through to any ensuing dispute.

He also brings expertise in advising on insurance coverage under contractors’ all risks, contract works, public liability and professional indemnity insurance policies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Society of Construction Law.

  • Advising a local authority on entitlements to delay damages under a partnering agreement for the construction of social housing.
  • Resolving main and sub contract final account disputes on behalf of the main contractor on a series of projects to upgrade process plants.
  • Acting for consulting engineers on a major highways project in connection with a dispute over the pavement, drainage and structures.
  • Advising insurers on coverage in respect of fire safety and cladding.
