David is a senior associate in the employment team. He specialises in all aspects of employment law, but has particular experience in defending complex claims against employers in the employment tribunal, having acted for several household name clients over the years.
David’s clients range from senior employees to businesses of all sizes. He advises on all stages of the employment cycle, from offers of employment, drafting and negotiating employment contracts, performance management and remuneration to discrimination, data protection, the employment aspects of restructuring, unfair dismissal, settlement agreements, and post termination restrictive covenants.
David has designed and delivered many training events for clients, and spoken at several conferences and events, both in the UK and abroad. Prior to joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2019, he spent several years in New Zealand as a full time adjudicator in the equivalent of the employment tribunal. Before this, David worked in a top tier City of London firm, including as a partner for nine years. He also worked in the energy R&D and banking sectors prior to becoming a lawyer.
