Tom is an associate in the employment team, based in the Reading office. He acts for corporate clients, individuals, staff associations and their members, advising on a broad range of employment law matters. He is experienced in conducting employment tribunal litigation in relation to unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination, and contractual or wages disputes amongst other issues. Tom regularly undertakes employment tribunal advocacy.
He gives HR support and training on a range of matters both nationally and internationally when preparing contracts and handbooks, as well as when advising on risks and strategy in relation to employment status, disciplinary hearings, dismissals and redundancies. He also provides advice to employers and employees in relation to settlement agreements.
Tom qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA), having worked on the ELA Ethnicity Pay Reporting working group to assess the feasibility of ethnicity pay reporting obligations in a similar manner to the Gender Pay Gap reporting requirements. He has also had articles published by external publications, including Tax Journal and Employment Solicitor.
