May qualified in 2009 and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper's immigration team in 2013. She has been working in the UK immigration field since 2007 and was previously a solicitor at a niche immigration law firm before moving to an HR consultancy. May concentrates mainly on business immigration and provides training to corporate clients on compliance as well as prevention of illegal working. Her particular focuses are on Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas under the points based system although she also advises private individuals.

She has worked with many sectors - including health and care, media and advertising, technology and travel, hotels and leisure - and her clients include financial institutions, companies from the technology sector, manufacturers, logistics companies and government organisations. She speaks on the latest developments in immigration law at conferences and seminars and is praised by clients for her efficient and accurate service. She is a fluent Cantonese and Mandarin speaker.
