Sarah Hibberd

Senior associate

Sarah is an experienced associate in the medical negligence team, who conducts a wide variety of medical negligence claims. She has a specialist interest in stroke cases, and claims relating to sepsis and septic arthritis, as well as claims relating to maternal, gynaecological and obstetric injuries.

She conducts high-value cases relating to adult-acquired brain injuries, including claims for delayed diagnosis and treatment of strokes, and works tenaciously to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients so that compensation can be used to improve their quality of life. In addition, Sarah investigates fatal accident claims for bereaved families for delayed diagnosis, treatment of sepsis, and for parents who have lost babies and children as a result of negligent treatment. She understands the sensitivity of these claims and helps bereaved families to navigate the legal processes and to find out what happened to their loved ones.

I am passionate about supporting my clients, who are often severely traumatised, through the process of investigating a medical negligence claim, to obtain answers and, ultimately, compensation for their injuries. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client thrive once their claim has settled and they have access to the right services.

Sarah Hibberd, Senior associate

Her obstetrics cases include a wide variety of maternal injuries, including claims relating to mode of delivery, amniotic fluid embolism, hyperstimulation, bladder injury, infertility, sepsis and psychological injury. Sarah also investigates claims for babies and children for cerebral palsy, meconium aspiration syndrome, delayed diagnosis, and treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip. Noted by clients and colleagues for her hard-working and persistent approach, Sarah has a comprehensive understanding of her cases and her clients praise her support and guidance provided throughout their claims. She joined the firm as a trainee in 2011 and qualified into the clinical negligence team in London in September 2013. From 2021 onwards, she has been based in the Basingstoke office, but continues to work with clients nationwide.
