Penningtons Manches Cooper grows employment practice with specialist partner appointment
Penningtons Manches Cooper has appointed prominent employment lawyer Graham Green as a partner in its highly regarded employment team. His arrival further strengthens the firm’s 50 fee-earner practice and enhances its expertise in advising on complex and high profile matters across multiple sectors.
Graham, who joins the firm from Eversheds, is particularly recognised as a ‘go to’ name for major TV and film broadcast media and global technology clients. He has extensive experience working with numerous high profile clients, including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Netflix, Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures, Nokia, and Alibaba, as well as major production companies and US and international media groups. He has also worked with multiple FTSE 100 companies and a number of global pharmaceutical businesses.
With many years’ experience in the High Court, Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal, Graham is frequently instructed on discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims, as well as contractual and bonus disputes and matters relating to equal pay. He also advises on high value contentious matters including restraint of trade and deferred compensation arrangements. Graham has particular experience on the application of the Equality Act 2010 to talent selection and all other aspects of in TV and film broadcasting and production.
Graham’s previous cases include some of the most significant employment matters in the UK media sector. He led a large team advising the BBC on its equal pay grievance processes and related litigation. He has also represented major broadcasters in landmark discrimination litigation, including acting for Channel 4 and IMG Media in successfully defending the age discrimination claim brought by John McCririck.
Graham will be based primarily in the firm’s Cambridge office but will also regularly spend time in the London office.
