Penningtons Manches is delighted to be one of the founding members of the inaugural London International Disputes Week (LIDW).
Taking place between 7 and 10 May 2019, the event will bring together legal practitioners from around the world to celebrate the heritage of London as a centre for handling disputes through a varied programme of interactive sessions. It comprises a one day conference at the National Gallery as well as 18 technical sessions on different types of disputes and forms of dispute resolution.
Aimed at lawyers, judges, arbitrators, academics and others involved in using or administrating dispute resolution across numerous sectors, LIDW will provide a range of opportunities to enjoy networking with colleagues and peers, including a welcome drinks reception at Banking Hall and a gala dinner at the City’s historic Mansion House.
Commenting on the event, Rustam Dubash, head of the commercial dispute resolution team and the India group at Penningtons Manches, said: “London holds a unique appeal as a well-respected centre for handling disputes, whether through the courts or by arbitration, mediation, expert determination or negotiation.
“This much anticipated week will allow London’s finest legal professionals to explore the future of dispute resolution and will no doubt demonstrate how London is able to adapt to modern challenges and to continue to develop its world-renowned status. We are proud to be a driving force behind such an important occasion.”
