The recently published 2013 edition of The UK Legal 500 continues to recognise the clinical negligence team at Penningtons as a top ranked firm in the South East. The Legal 500 series of guides reviews the strengths and strategies of law firms in over 90 countries and within the UK carries out a detailed investigation into the performance of firms in various areas – both geographically and within types of practice. Assessment is based on a number of factors which include industry and client feedback.
Penningtons’ clinical negligence team continues to be ranked as Tier 1 firm in the South East and this year’s quote said: “Penningtons Solicitors [clinical negligence team] has ‘sound knowledge of medical negligence, and excellent client relations’. Tim Palmer who is ‘brilliant with clients’, and Philippa Luscombe co-lead a ‘great team’.
Philippa Luscombe, partner in the clinical negligence team has also just been re accredited by the charity, Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA), as a specialist clinical negligence solicitor on its panel. AvMA is a patient safety charity and, as part of the provision of advice to individuals concerned about their medical care, has a panel of recommended specialist clinical negligence solicitors. The criteria for this panel are strict and candidates require re-accreditation every five years with provision of a detailed portfolio of cases conducted and information regarding their practice.
