Penningtons Manches Cooper boosts tech practice with new partner

Top 50 law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper has further expanded its successful and growing technology sector group with the appointment of partner Sarah Kenshall.

Sarah has more than two decades of experience advising tech businesses on a range of commercial issues. Her intellectual property expertise and her knowledge of the laws surrounding data, networks and systems are especially sought after, as is her deep understanding of the regulatory and competition law relating to the transfer of technology between research institutions and commercial organisations.

More recently, she has also developed significant expertise around data infrastructure, particularly  governance structures for sharing data - whether that be in the form of commercialisation through marketplaces, sharing through hubs or ‘pooling’ for analytics, all of which will form the digital infrastructure of the future.

Her practice spans the sector: she advises SMEs, multinationals, and clients procuring products and services from tech companies. She also works with public sector and pseudo-governmental bodies on critical policy and regulatory projects, with a particular focus on the setting up the technology infrastructures to support AI and machine learning.
