Penningtons Manches Cooper’s corporate team has advised Friars Pride, an independent family owned and run supplier to the fish and chip, catering and bakery sectors, on its acquisition of Kassero Edible Oils Ltd. Cambridge-based corporate partner Helen Drayton led the Penningtons Manches Cooper team, supported by associate Katharine Robinson. Employment lawyer Sophie Whitbread also advised on the deal, alongside real estate specialists Sarah Coates and Giorgia Clements.
This acquisition sees Friars Pride secure a seventh depot, located in Bristol, and will stretch its geographical reach from the Midlands to South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, the East of England, London, the South, the South East, the South West and South Wales. The new depot also strengthens the delivery area of The Q Partnership distribution network, of which Friars Pride is a member.
Rebecca Lord, the managing director of Friars Pride, said: “It was great working again with the Penningtons Manches Cooper team on another strategic acquisition for us. Their assistance was a real support to us.”
Helen Drayton commented: “We’ve worked with Rebecca and Nigel for a few years now and we are delighted to have been able to assist them with the acquisition, which I am sure will be another successful addition to the Friars Pride family. We are looking forward to working with them on the next one!”
