Penningtons Manches has been named in eprivateclient’s Top Law Firms list for the eighth consecutive year. For 2017, the rankings have been expanded from the usual ‘Top 25 Law Firms’ to include 46 firms identified as providing ‘high quality private client services’ to wealthy individuals and families based both domestically and internationally. This new approach allows eprivateclient, the leading news service for private client practitioners, to include and identify those firms which provide the high quality and professional advice and support that clients need in challenging times.
As well as recognising a greater number of firms, eprivateclient has sought to distinguish the firms by introducing a system of tiers based on reputation, quality of service, how the firms have fared in the past 12 months, any M&A activity, how other bodies see them, as well as the extent of their UK offering.
The Penningtons Manches private client team has been ranked in tier two amongst 10 other firms with a combined fee income of £112.6 million. The rankings follow a survey of over 140 legal practices in the UK, based on data for 2016 which assesses a combination of factors including the number of private client fee earners and private client fee income as a percentage of total revenue.
Penningtons Manches has been successful in various eprivateclient awards over the past year. Head of private client and tax Clare Archer and senior counsel Chris Lintott featured in the 50 Most Influential list 2017, which recognises leaders in providing the best possible services to meet the needs of wealthy individuals, and partner James d’Aquino and senior associate Lucy Edwards were named as ‘rising stars’ in the definitive annual list of young private client practitioners, the Top 35 Under 35 2016.
