Penningtons Manches partner Charles Brooks has this month spoken at four seminars across India in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bangalore. The events were entitled ‘London: catalyst for growth - get set global’ and held in partnership with London and Partners, UK Trade and Investment and the City of London together with other organisations from the capital.
Focusing on the opportunities for cross border mergers and acquisitions and raising funds in London, the seminars were designed to allow Indian companies to develop a better insight into the business and regulatory aspects of establishing an entity in the UK. The panellists shared their collective experiences and thoughts on doing business in this country, support and opportunities made available by the Government and how to plan a quick and cost effective business presence in Europe. They also spoke about the India-UK M&A landscape, including the technical nuances of a cross-border transaction, and threw light on the different funding avenues available including ECBs and AIM listing, which has been a preferred route for Indian corporates in the past and is gaining traction again.
Commenting on the programme, Charles Brooks said: “The workshops provided specialist advice from experienced professionals across a range of sectors and were greeted with an enthusiastic response from both existing clients and new contacts looking to set up a presence in the UK. Penningtons Manches was delighted to be asked to support the initiative.”
