Penningtons’ India group played a key role in a Choice International seminar held at the firm's London office on 6 June. The seminar explored opportunities for promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR), social innovation, diversity and inclusion in the UK and India, bringing together specialists, corporate entities, aficionados, Indian expats and friends from around the world.
David Raine, chief executive of Penningtons Solicitors LLP, and Rustam Dubash, head of the India group, welcomed the attendees. Delegates also heard from prominent speakers in the areas of CSR, social innovation and diversity, including Subash Thakrar, chairman of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Meenakshi Nath, deputy head of DFID India; Krishna Sarda, group CEO of EMA and India800; Manoj Soma, CEO of Choice International; Melani Mehra, founder and CEO of the Centre for Social Markets; Kalyani Ghadi-Rhodes, UK South Asia Engagement Manager for Oxfam; Yogesh Chauhan, director of corporate sustanability for Tata Consultancy Services; Ben Humphrey, disability sports coordinator of Motivation UK; and Dr Ruth Kattumuri, director of the India Observatory at the London School of Economics.
The conference offered Q&A sessions during which individuals could raise their concerns and provide their own insights into important issues. The day culminated in a networking reception for all the attendees.
