Teja Picton-Howell has over 25 years' experience as a corporate finance and commercial lawyer. He was an associate with Nabarro Nathanson before establishing his own practice, Picton Howell, which he merged with EMW Law in 2008 to form EMW Picton Howell LLP. He advises clients in India, Europe, the Gulf and the UK, including businesses in the financial services, life sciences, IT and telecoms sectors. His recent transactions include projects for Inventages life sciences capital fund, the Essar Group (India) and CRISIL (The Credit Rating Agency of India). Penningtons' India group provides commercial, corporate, dispute resolution, commercial property and tax planning advice to a broad range of Indian clients in the UK and also has strong links with businesses in India. It was established in 1992 by Penningtons partner Rustam Dubash. Clients include the Tata Group, Syndicate Bank, Mahindra and Mahindra, Shree Cement and Nihilent Technologies. The firm is a member of the UK India Business Council and of the Asian Business Group at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Commenting on these new appointments, Penningtons' chief executive David Raine said: "Clare and Teja have excellent reputations and we are delighted to welcome them to Penningtons. The growth of both our private client and India teams, which already have a strong presence in the market place, are an indication of our ongoing commitment to extending the depth of services we offer to clients right across our business."
