Leadership in cyber resilience: executive governance, strategic decision-making and incident leadership
Cyber incidents are no longer solely IT issues. Ransomware attacks, data breaches and supply chain attacks can quickly become board level issues, affecting operations, reputation, regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence.
Join Neil Hare-Brown from STORM Guidance, and Charlotte Hill and Oliver Kidd from Penningtons Manches Cooper, for an interactive workshop designed for board members, senior executives, general counsel and risk leaders.
Combining legal, regulatory and cyber security perspectives with a live incident simulation, the session will consider:
- the board’s role in cyber governance and resilience;
- strategic decision making during a cyber incident;
- legal, regulatory and stakeholder considerations;
- crisis communications and reputation management; and
- steps organisations can take to strengthen resilience.
Executive cyber incident simulation
Participants will be placed in the boardroom during the early stages of a ransomware attack and data breach. Working through a developing scenario, they will consider issues including:
- leadership and escalation;
- stakeholder and regulatory notifications;
- media and customer communications;
- legal obligations and risk management;
- whether to pay a ransom; and
- balancing business continuity, reputation and regulatory exposure.
Drawing on their experience advising on cyber incidents, the speakers will share observations from real-world scenarios throughout the exercise.
Places are limited to encourage discussion and participation.
