Claim for negligent stillbirth

Our clients' son was stillborn owing to negligence in management of the labour. The hospital midwife failed to recognise signs of deceleration in the foetal heart rate.

Had this been acted on, then the baby probably could have been delivered and would have survived. Instead, the baby was tragically stillborn. Our clients, both parents, suffered psychological injury from the traumatic labour and its outcome. They agreed a settlement of their claims with the hospital concerned.
