Portrait of Cecelia Ward

Profile

Cecelia advises clients and their families, often acting for two or three generations of the same family, on how to organise their affairs to their best advantage. She is experienced in all aspects of private client work (tax planning, the use of trusts and wills, probate for example), and much of her role entails structuring assets to suit the family in the future, and ensure the best fiscal result. She assists clients with family difficulties, difficult assets or assets in difficult jurisdictions and those with complex affairs.

Cecelia has particular expertise in advising clients whose wealth is within their businesses - both family businesses (including farms) and entrepreneurs. She is proactive and supportive of her families over the years, and this enables her to spot and avert tensions within the family becoming business problems, or business problems causing family tensions. While some of Cecelia’s clients are Surrey-based, the majority reside elsewhere in the UK or overseas.

Cecelia qualified with a Magic Circle law firm in 1997 and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2004. She is also qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor. The latest edition of Chambers High Net Worth recognises her as a leading individual in her field.
