Paula Vertz
Paralegal
Paula is a paralegal in the Court of Protection team. She has experience in the administration and management of personal injury trusts and works with cross-jurisdictional deputyships.
As a member of the team, Paula assists and supports deputies and trustees with the day-to-day management of clients’ finances. She is a point of contact for clients and their families in many aspects of their needs such as education, banking, insurance, property works or issues and applications for benefits. She also assists senior colleagues on the long-term planning and management of deputyships and trusts including budgeting, financial planning, litigation work, the purchasing of property, arrangements for specialist adaptations and applications to the Court of Protection.
I enjoy using my organisation and communication skills to support and assist clients and their families, and supporting senior members of the team to make sympathetic and practical decisions to meet clients’ best interests.
Prior to joining Penningtons Manches Cooper, Paula worked with individuals challenging their deprivations of liberty under section 21A and section 16 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Paula has an LLM in professional legal practice from The University of Law, and a masters in international business from Ecole Superieure de Commerce – Grenoble, France.
