Associate

Ollie is an associate in the IP, IT and commercial team in London. He assists a broad range of clients on matters relating to a variety of sectors and services, including general commercial agreements, data protection, intellectual property, advertising and marketing, and sports.

In particular, Ollie assists with drafting, reviewing and advising on the supply of goods and services agreements, confidentiality agreements, master services agreements, statements of work and both business to business and business to consumer terms and conditions. He has experience working on privacy policies, cookie policies, standard contractual clauses and data protection impact assessments; as well as assisting with the protection and management and enforcement of trade marks and other intellectual property rights, both in the UK and internationally.

Ollie also has a particular interest in the sports and creative industries and has a solid understanding of the advertising regulations in the UK. He also has recent experience of assisting clients in these sectors with the preparation of industry-specific agreements, including brand ambassador and athlete participation agreements.

Having joined Penningtons Manches Cooper as a trainee in 2021, he qualified with the firm in 2023. Prior to starting his training contract, Ollie completed his undergraduate degree in law and was a paralegal at a global consumer electronics company, specialising in marketing law.

Drafting an agreement for a global sports organisation to engage an Olympic athlete to participate in their events and to promote the events in person and through broadcast and non-broadcast media.

Renegotiating multi-million pound agreement

Assisting with the renegotiation of a framework agreement with a highly reputable UK-based fashion company worth over £10 million per year. Drafting associated documents including a sub-contractor agreement, privacy policies, international data transfer agreements and a copyright licence.

Commercial support for GTIN provider

Updating the business-to-business terms and conditions of a global provider of global trade item numbers, and drafting a partnership agreement and a trade mark licence to assist with the roll-out of their new pilot project in the UK.

Higher education guidance

Reviewing a suite of student policies for a reputable UK music and drama school in line with the Competition and Markets Authority’s guidance for h education providers.

Medicinal cannabis advertising compliance

Advising a medical cannabis clinic on ensuring compliance with the advertising regulations in the UK and drafting a brand ambassador agreement dealing with the clinic’s engagement of a social media influencer.

In-house legal training

Providing English contract law training and legal updates to in-house counsel during a client visit to their Madrid office.
