Maria is an associate in the banking and finance team, based in London.

She represents banks, financial institutions, non-bank financial institutions and corporates on a broad range of cross-border trade finance transactions. She has worked predominantly with clients across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia, advising on syndicated and bilateral commodity financings, receivables financing (including supply chain finance), and structured trade and commodity finance transactions.

Maria has a particular expertise in traditional and digital negotiable instruments, including bills of exchange and promissory notes, and advises on their use in trade finance structures. Her practice also includes assisting with the legal, regulatory and sanctions and compliance considerations relevant to international trade finance.
