Lisa Hillary

Partner

Lisa is a partner in the firm’s marine, trade and aviation team. She has extensive experience in international commercial litigation, including insurance (marine and aviation), international trade and shipping disputes arising under contracts of affreightment (COAs), charterparties, bills of lading, multi-party vessel sharing agreements and ship sale/purchase, supply and repair contracts.

A frequent participant in complex, high-profile and high-value insurance/reinsurance, shipping, and trade litigation before the High Court, Lisa has successfully represented clients in multi-jurisdictional claims concerning maritime casualty, war, and political risk. She recently led clients in the multi-billion dollar global aviation insurance litigation arising out of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

I aim to achieve the best result for my clients by working in close collaboration with them so that I understand their business priorities and relationships. By taking this pragmatic and commercial approach, I seek to mitigate the distractions of litigation so that my clients can at all times maintain their commercial focus.
