Lauren Stubbs

Associate

Lauren is an associate within the Guildford family team with experience in advising clients on a full range of family law issues including children arrangements, financial arrangements upon divorce and cohabitation disputes. She also advises high net worth clients and those with international connections.

She has acted in numerous matters with complexities including ongoing criminal proceedings, mental health and capacity issues, domestic violence and alcohol/drug dependencies. Lauren also has a growing legal practice in modern family law and has acted on numerous international surrogacy cases.

I advise on all aspects of relationship breakdown. I am committed to resolving family disputes in a constructive manner and advocate for non-court dispute resolution, using the court process only where necessary.

Lauren Stubbs, Associate

Having completed her training contract with another leading national law firm, Lauren joined the firm as an associate in September 2023. Prior to this, she obtained a first-class law degree from the University of Warwick and a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. During her legal studies, Lauren was awarded the runner-up Gamlen Prize by the Westminster and Holborn Law Society for being the most promising candidate. She is a member of Resolution, the leading specialist organisation for family lawyers, and is committed to resolving disputes in a constructive manner.

International relocation

Acting for a father in a reported international relocation case involving complex immigration, financial and welfare issues.

International surrogacy

Advising on numerous international surrogacy cases for intended parents and working closely with colleagues in the immigration and private client department to support intended parents on their surrogacy journeys.

Children Act proceedings

Acting in Children Act proceedings where there were allegations of parental alienation and controlling and coercive behaviour, including the appointment of a guardian.

Financial remedy proceedings

Advising on a high value financial arbitration with complex business structures and contested expert valuation reports in which arguments arose relating to relationship generated disadvantage.

International abduction

Assisting on an international child abduction case in the High Court involving a non-Hague jurisdiction.
