Katie is a senior associate in the employment team in Reading, with over 15 years’ experience advising on a broad range of employment issues.

Her clients typically include well-known global companies, PLCs, and senior executives in the technology, life sciences, and motor industries. Clients describe her as ‘pragmatic, business-focused, and centred on delivering the best outcomes for business with minimal friction’.

She is particularly well known for her expertise in complex employee relations/discrimination cases, employment status, IR35, and labour supply chain issues, business reorganisations including redundancies, restructures and M&A work (including TUPE), and advising on the enforcement of post-termination restrictive covenants. Katie also has extensive experience representing clients (both companies and individuals) in complex and high-value employment litigation.

Katie is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), and co-chair of the firm’s neurodiversity committee. She regularly speaks at external events on behalf of CIPD and runs training events for clients on a significant number of employment matters.

Large scale business restructure

Advising a global technology company on its UK restructure involving the TUPE transfer of over 1600 employees, and the redundancy of 300 employees.

Career-long loss disability discrimination claim

Successfully acting for an individual with dyslexia in respect of a disability discrimination claim that resulted in career-long losses.

Cross-border international M&A work

Providing employment advice and support to a large organisation on the acquisition of a global group of companies. This involved cross border employment and TUPE advice involving target companies based in Ireland, Poland, India and Czechia.

Restrictive covenant High Court injunctive proceedings

Successfully pursuing High Court injunctive proceedings and enforcement of a 12-month non-compete restrictive covenant for an overseas advanced technology company against an ex-director.
