Kate Molan

Senior associate

Kate is a senior associate in the family team, based in the London office. She is a trusted advisor to numerous ultra high net worth individuals, family offices and companies, and undertakes both international and domestic work.

Her international family law work focuses on complex financial issues with a foreign dimension, and she has worked on a number of reported cases, most recently Susan Nancy Baker v Andrew Hartill Baker [2023] EWFC 136. Kate also deals with complex or international children disputes and marital agreements.

I feel immensely privileged to act as a trusted advisor to my clients and to help them achieve the very best outcome when faced with the uncertainty and difficulty of a relationship breakdown. I always give my all to each and every case whilst remaining calm and measured throughout.

Having completed an MA (Hons) in English literature at the University of St Andrews, Kate completed her legal postgraduate training in London. She joined the firm in 2010 as a trainee solicitor and was promoted to senior associate in 2019. Kate has garnered several awards and accolades during her career to date including, most recently, winner of the Gold Award in the ‘Future Leaders, Associate, VP’ category at the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards in 2020, and inclusion in the Citywealth Next Gen Top 15 Family Lawyers in 2023. Kate has written regularly for numerous journals on international matters.

Acting for the successful husband in Susan Nancy Baker v Andrew Hartill Baker [2023] EWFC 136, a reported case involving multiple jurisdictions and complex arguments about the alleged dissipation or concealment of assets.

UHNW marital agreement

Advising on a complex marital agreement involving international assets worth over £1 billion.

Jurisdictional challenges

Advising on multiple jurisdictional disputes, including between England and Wales and Switzerland, and England and Wales and Nevada.

International relocation

Acting on the international relocation of children to France by the mother, where the relocation was opposed by the father.
