Profile

Simon has considerable experience dealing with all aspects of commercial real estate including acquisitions, disposals, letting, development and funding. He holds a masters degree in law from Bristol University and qualified in 1991.

He has particular expertise of acting for large corporate tenants with fast ‘roll out’ programmes with a particular focus on the retail and leisure sector including convenience stores. His clients include Fitness First and White Stuff Limited.

Over the last five years, Simon has been heavily involved with ground rents and his team has acquired hundreds of ground rent investments with an aggregate value in excess of £125 million.

  • Acting for Fitness First in connection with the property aspects of their recent CVA and the subsequent disposal of numerous non-performing gyms.
  • Advising IKEA in connection with the development of the IKEA Southampton store.
  • Acting for Fat Face in connection with the property aspects of the company sale by its founders, Jules and Tim.
  • Advising Riverside Capital on the sale of a ground rent portfolio of 5000 units.
  • Acting for HSBC in connection with the acquisition of West Tower Liverpool, one of the tallest towers in the UK.
