Sam is a senior associate in the firm’s London based construction and infrastructure team, specialising in construction and related insurance disputes.

He has a handled a broad range of claims arising under construction contracts, and has experience of all forms of dispute resolution. He has a particular focus on issues arising from professional negligence of construction consultants, such as claims with respect to defects and delay. Sam also has experience of adjudications concerning interim applications and final account disputes.

Having acted for and against large multi-disciplinary consultancies, engineers, architects, project managers, developers and employers, Sam has developed a strong commercial awareness and a comprehensive understanding of industry issues.

Recent work highlights

  • Acting on behalf of a consultant in a dispute over alleged defects and resultant delays arising out of the construction of the Rolls Building in London.
  • Advising a consulting engineering firm in a dispute over its design services linked to a residential property featured on the Channel 4 series Grand Designs.
  • Acting on behalf of a developer in a claim over a distribution centre in the South East in which damages were reported to be in the region of £30 million.
