Profile

Fareen is an associate in the family team, based in the Oxford office. She advises on all aspects of private family law, including divorce, financial disputes, cohabitation and children matters.

A member of Resolution, Fareen is committed to resolving disputes in a constructive manner and working with clients to achieve the best possible outcomes for all parties involved. She is also a committee member of the Thames Valley Family Law Society.

She joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2021 after training and qualifying at a law firm in Surrey. An LLB graduate of the London School of Economics, Fareen spent time after graduating working at Berkshire Women’s Aid before continuing with her legal training and qualification. 

Recent work highlights

  • Assisting with the preparation for a private financial dispute resolution appointment on behalf of a client worth in excess of £5 million.
  • Submitting an application for maintenance pending suit which was successfully settled in the client’s favour.
  • Assisting in a financial case involving significant non-disclosure of business interests where an application for specific disclosure was required.
  • Providing advice in a financial case involving significant disputes over the length of the marriage, the ring-fencing of pre-marriage and post-separation assets and the parties’ respective contributions to the marriage.
  • Acting for a party in an emergency application for a Prohibited Steps Order under the Children Act 1989.
