Jonny Farrell

Associate

Jonny is an associate in the projects, development and construction team in London, specialising in non-contentious work. He has expertise across the full spectrum of construction, infrastructure and development projects.

He  has acted for a variety of clients including investors, developers, contractors, local authorities, social housing associations and private individuals. Jonny regularly assists clients in the industrial and logistics, housing and commercial real estate sectors. He has advised on and negotiated a large range of industry standard building contracts (including JCT, NEC, MF/1, RIBA), professional appointments, collateral warranties, agreements for lease and development agreements.

I am a projects, development and construction lawyer giving advice on complex construction projects. When assisting clients, I seek to provide pragmatic commercial guidance in a clear and concise way which provides value.

Jonny also has significant experience in Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme funded cladding remediation projects across both higher-risk and non-higher risk buildings. He has acted for a number of investor clients on the construction aspects of development finance agreements and sale agreements. Having previously worked at a leading firm in Guildford, and on secondment with an in-house legal team at a Mayfair real estate investment firm, Jonny joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in January 2024.

Advising on the procurement route and construction documents as part of a construction management project for the development of a 40-unit residential scheme in London for a registered provider client.

Reviewing and negotiating the construction elements of an agreement for lease for a large primary care facility.

Advising on the construction elements of a £40 million purchase of an industrial and logistics park by an institutional investor.
