James Hodgson
Junior paralegal
James is a junior paralegal in the medical negligence team, based in the Basingstoke office, supporting associates and partners with the day to day aspects of their cases.
He assists on all elements of the claims process, from initial inception through to completion. James acts as a point of contact for clients, experts, barristers and other legal professionals. His role also includes obtaining and reviewing medical records, preparing chronologies and drafting legal documents, arranging witness statements, organising disclosure of key legal documents, and preparing schedules of loss.
I aim to support our clients during what can be a difficult and stressful time with empathy, compassion, and clear communication. The most satisfying part of my job is seeing how the damages award truly changes our clients’ lives and allows them to get the support and therapy they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
James works on a variety of claims but has most experience in dealing with those relating to substantial birth injury and cerebral palsy. Other cases include fatal claims, stillbirth, delayed diagnosis and surgical errors. He joined the firm in 2021.
