Farah Khalid

Associate

Farah is an experienced family lawyer, advising clients on all aspects of private family law, including divorce, financial settlements, complex asset division, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, domestic abuse, injunctions, children matters, cohabitation, enforcement and variation of orders.

She has particular expertise in Sharia law, advising clients on the risks and legal implications of entering into an Islamic marriage (Nikah) only and ensuring they understand the legal status of a Nikah under English law. Farah also drafts bespoke cohabitation agreements for those clients who prefer to enter into a religious ceremony only to protect their financial position during cohabitation and upon separation. Farah is passionate about bridging the gap between English and Sharia law, providing culturally sensitive advice to clients who wish to ensure compliance with their religious beliefs while navigating the English legal system. Fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, she is well-placed to support a diverse clientele.

I am a family lawyer who brings empathy, clarity and logic to complex situations. I strive to protect my clients’ best interests while prioritising amicable and timely resolutions. My role is about guiding my clients through an emotionally challenging period with compassion and in a way in which they feel supported and empowered.
