Profile

Luis is an associate in the Madrid office who specialises in shipping, insurance and IT law. His expertise in these fields covers contentious and non-contentious insurance claims, yachts, ship arrest, collisions, salvage, data protection, e-commerce, cyber risk and also advice to insurance companies. He has experience in court proceedings and arbitration in Spain, and assists clients with trade mark and design matters before the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante (EUIPO).

He regularly authors articles and papers on topics such as the legal aspects of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, IT and maritime law.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Luis has an LLM degree in Business and Shipping Law from the University Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE/IME) and an LLM degree in Internet and IT Law from the Instituto Europeo Campus Stellae. Luis is a member of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Bar Association.
