Profile

Ben is an associate in the housing team and specialises in working with registered providers of social housing, assisting them with development and regeneration projects. He also has experience working with clients in the private sector, including investor and developer clients. His expertise extends to brownfield and greenfield sites.

He is able to advise clients on a wide spectrum of documents including land contracts, development agreements, option agreements, agreements for lease, easements and section agreements.

Ben qualified as a solicitor in 2021 and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2023.

Recent work highlights

  • Working with a registered provider on a joint venture with a private developer to construct over 300 units.
  • Working with a registered provider to develop a new model for selling and developing unused plots of land with SME house builders on a profit-sharing agreement.
  • Identifying and advising a client on a prescriptive easement, preventing development of an adjoining site, and negotiating release of the easement for best value.
  • Advising a registered provider on the development site acquisition for 120 units valued at over £20 million.
