Ellen Banks

Associate

Ellen is an associate in the Guildford family team. She acts for clients on the full spectrum of family law issues including children matters, divorce and financial remedies, and domestic abuse.

She is a member of Resolution, the leading specialist organisation for family lawyers, and is committed to resolving disputes constructively. Ellen spent a year with the team in Guildford during her training contract, gaining varied experience in family law, before qualifying as a solicitor in September 2024. Since qualifying Ellen has continued to assist clients on a broad range of matters including financial remedies, child arrangements and pre-nuptial agreements.

I provide advice on a full range of family law matters, including financial and children issues. I have an empathetic approach, with a particular interest in supporting clients who have suffered domestic abuse.

Ellen Banks, Associate

Ellen obtained a first-class degree in history from the University of Bristol, and a distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Prior to her legal studies, Ellen worked at an international boarding school in Switzerland, before returning to the UK to work with victims of domestic abuse at the National Centre for Domestic Violence, where she assisted vulnerable clients with drafting urgent Family Law Act applications.
