Colin Hayes

Senior associate

Colin is a senior associate in the commercial dispute resolution team, specialising in insurance litigation, group action claims, and professional negligence disputes.

He has over a decade’s experience acting for clients in complex insurance claims, with a focus on policy coverage disputes, direct first party claims by policyholders against their insurers and, more recently, collective redress through policyholder group action claims. Coline has experience advising both policyholders and insurers on high value and complex coverage litigation, including many disputes with an international or multijurisdictional angle and complex fraud cases. He is also a committee member of the Cyber Insurance Association, where he acts as membership secretary, and is involved the organisation of regular webinars and seminar events in regard to this developing area of insurance law and practice.

As an insurance and group actions specialist, the matters I deal with are often complex and the outcomes extremely important to clients. I am often able to explain complex legal issues in plain and understandable terms, ensuring that clients can make informed commercial decisions about their cases, fully understanding all of the issues and their implications.
