Arjun Sreedaran

Senior associate

Arjun is a senior associate in the family law team in Guildford. He advises on all areas of family law including divorce, financial remedy proceedings, children matters, cohabitation disputes, nuptial agreements and domestic violence.

He is committed to dealing with family law disputes in a compassionate and constructive way, and regularly receives positive feedback from his clients for the high standard of service provided and his dedication to achieving the best outcome for them. Arjun always explores non-court dispute resolution options in order to attempt to settle matters in a cost-effective manner and avoid court proceedings where possible. He is a member of Resolution, an organisation which promotes a constructive approach to resolving family law matters, and chair of Surrey Young Resolution.

I thrive on finding creative solutions to complex problems in the most cost-effective way. I am a firm believer in non-court dispute resolution and exploring early settlement in all cases. My focus is on understanding my clients’ needs and providing pragmatic advice to help them navigate what is often an extremely difficult period in their lives.

In 2019, Arjun won the Rising Star Award at the Surrey Law Society Legal Awards in recognition of his hard work and commitment to family law. Earlier in his career he gained extensive experience in mental health law. He attained Law Society panel accreditation in mental health law and represented many patients at the First-tier Tribunal (Mental Health) before judges up to circuit judge level.

Financial remedy proceedings

Representing a client in an application to vary a financial order in a case with capital assets valued at approximately £21 million.

Pre-nuptial agreement

Advising a client and preparing a pre-nuptial agreement in order to protect their assets worth over £5 million, primarily consisting of a personal injury settlement awarded following a serious road traffic accident.

High net worth pre-nuptial agreement

Advising the fiancé of a high-profile sportsman in relation to a pre-nuptial agreement with overall assets in excess of £43 million.

Freezing injunctions and disclosure orders

Representing a client in a complex and long-running financial remedies case involving a substantial personal injury award, where issues included non-disclosure of income and capital and litigation misconduct, successfully obtaining a freezing injunction and third-party disclosure order.
