Alex is a partner in the commercial dispute resolution team. He advises clients on a wide variety of substantial intellectual property and commercial disputes, including those which give rise to technology, procurement, public law and healthcare issues.

Related issues on which he regularly acts include financial services, insolvency, tax, professional negligence, and substantial national, international and cross-border issues. Alex is also known for his reputation protection work, especially for private wealth, professional services, creatives and real estate clients, which involves the effective handling of the most complex and sensitive matters.

I enjoy resolving corporate disputes, and am skilled in strategic thinking, finding simple commercial solutions to complex problems. My team and I have developed a reputation for getting results for our clients. We are often brought in as ‘second counsel’ to deliver results.

As well as being a media commentator on news channels such as BBC News and the Today Programme, Alex has co-authored a book on corporate restructuring, published by the Law Society. He is Commission President Emeritus within the commercial division of AIJA, has spoken and contributed to the ABA International Section (ABA-SIL), and lectures on both the domestic and international circuit. Alex has been recognised by Chambers UK as ‘a highly skilled, knowledgeable lawyer with strong verbal and analytical skills’ and is recommended by the Legal 500.

Acting for trustees in the bankruptcy of Alpha Insurance A/S and Qudos Insurance A/S, seeking the recovery of a substantial amount of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) from the UK tax authorities.
