Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised the shareholders of Fendequip Mooring Products Ltd, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of premium mooring products and deck equipment for yachts and superyachts worldwide, on its partnership with Trusta Industries.

Founded in 2004 and based in Wincanton, Somerset, Fendequip has grown to become the preferred choice for mooring and deck equipment of some of the world’s largest and most prestigious superyachts. Its range of custom products, including the renowned maxiStow Inflatable Fenders, Fender Hooks, and Fender Covers, are designed and manufactured in-house, serving customers worldwide through a purpose-built facility in the South West of England and a global network of service centres, dealers, and distributors.

Trusta Industries is an industrial group focused on manufacturers and distributors of mission critical industrial products in the UK. It has a ‘buy and own forever’ philosophy and places a huge importance on protecting the culture and legacy of its companies.

The Penningtons Manches Cooper team was led by corporate partner Will Axtell with support from managing associate Giordano Suergiu and associate Jenny Wright, commercial real estate senior associate Lauren Winch, corporate tax partner Kathy Potter and senior associate Leonie Langley, and employment senior associate Luke Shaw.

Paul Chown, managing director, and Lisa Chown, finance director at Fendequip, commented:

“We’ve spent two decades building something we’re genuinely proud of, and it was important to us that any partner shared that pride. From our first conversations, it was clear Trusta understood our business, our customers, and our values. We couldn’t be more excited about what comes next, for our team, our customers, and the business as a whole.

“From our first meeting with Will Axtell, we were confident that Penningtons Manches Cooper was the right choice. Will and the team’s patience, support, and expertise were instrumental in achieving a successful outcome, and we are extremely grateful for the guidance and assistance they provided throughout the process.”

Will Axtell, partner, commented:

“We very much enjoyed working with Paul and Lisa on this transaction. They have built an impressive business with a clear commitment to quality and innovation. Trusta is an excellent fit, bringing a long-term perspective and a genuine focus on preserving what makes the company special.”
