Top 50 law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper has appointed a new partner, Mona Patel, to its corporate practice.
Mona joins from Ince, bringing with her over two decades of experience in transactional corporate and commercial law. Her practice centres around advising on UK and cross-border complex acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and strategic partnerships (including joint venture shareholder arrangements), management buy-outs and buy-ins, and restructurings and mergers.
Based in the firm’s London office, Mona will work alongside global head of corporate, Matthew Martin, and the wider team.
Her expertise in handling shipping and energy matters will also see her work closely with the firm’s marine, trade and energy team. Some of her recent work in the sector includes advising a Bahamian technical ship management company on its joint venture with an Indian software house to develop an on board e-logging solution, acting for a leading provider of shipman and marine services in its acquisition of a Greek travel marine business, and advising the shareholders of a leading Chinese engineering consultancy (serving the building, transportation, environmental, industrial infrastructure and energy sectors) on the sale of its group of companies. She has also advised a seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services contractor on its agreement to acquire a leading energy consultancy firm.
Mona’s wider client base extends across a number of different business and industry sectors including insurance, business and finance, aviation and technology.
