Penningtons Manches Cooper advises The Institute of Leadership and Management on its recent acquisition of ABE Global Ltd

The corporate team at Penningtons Manches Cooper has advised The Institute of Leadership and Management (TILM), a charity which is an international professional membership body and learning platform provider for leaders and managers, on its recent acquisition of ABE Global Ltd, an international not-for-profit skills development specialist, and Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation in the field of business and management.  

The Institute of Leadership and Management was founded in 1947 and is a professional body representing over 50,000 leaders, managers, coaches and mentors. It offers an approved accreditation scheme, an award-winning e-learning leadership development programme, advisory services, and research and knowledge to help organisations and individuals enhance leadership talent.

Founded in 1973, ABE Global provides internationally recognised learning and qualifications. It operates across four continents, providing management skills and support to help tackle gender inequality and poverty. It also freely provides world-class research to help learners with management and entrepreneurial skills.

The acquisition will support both organisations in their commitment to promoting and expanding business education and economic opportunity. It will combine TILM’s expertise in professional membership with ABE’s international business education, enabling both to accelerate growth internationally as they operate in complementary markets.

The Penningtons Manches Cooper team advising TILM was led by corporate partner and global head of corporate Matthew Martin, with support from corporate associate Jenny Wright. ABE was represented by Stone King.
