Penningtons Manches Cooper’s corporate team has advised OQEMA, a global chemical distribution, manufacturing and marketing company, on its acquisition of Casoria Company Ltd, a distributor of a range of chemicals and metals to the Irish market.
The acquisition of Casoria sees OQEMA further establish its Irish footprint for its ever growing European and international presence. It follows on from OQEMA’s 2019 acquisition of Rocara, an Irish business specialising in chemicals, solvents and surfactants, on which Penningtons Manches Cooper also advised.
Combining networks and product ranges will leverage growth for both companies.
Rob Moss, Managing Director of OQEMA, commented: "This acquisition is beneficial to us in many ways, not only by expanding our presence in Ireland, but also through our strategic focus on the food and pharmaceutical industries. We were absolutely delighted to be supported again by David, Emma and the team at Penningtons Manches Cooper. We enjoy working with them and very much appreciate their commercial and practical approach"
Oxford based corporate partner David Tighe led the Penningtons Manches Cooper team supported by associate Emma Simmonds. Our Multilaw partner in Ireland, Philip Lee, also worked on the transaction, advising on aspects of Irish law.
