The social housing team at Penningtons Manches Cooper has won a place on the legal services panel for Central Housing Investment Consortium ("CHIC"), following a highly competitive tender exercise managed by specialist legal consultants, Kennedy Cater.
CHIC has grown from a membership of seven founding members in the Midlands, to a group of around 90 housing associations and local authorities, which service over half a million social housing homes across the North West, Midlands, South and South Wales. The membership is expected to further expand over the duration of the four year panel appointment.
The Penningtons Manches Cooper team has been appointed to assist CHIC members with corporate, governance, finance, property and development work.
Head of social housing Linda Storey said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the Central Housing Investment Consortium. We look forward to partnering with them and their members in order to assist them in meeting their goals and delivering their social purpose.”
Penningtons Manches Coopers' social housing team advises more than 70 housing associations, ranging from the g320 up to the G15. The team provides a complete range of legal services including property, construction, finance, corporate and commercial advice to housing providers. The team was shortlisted for the Best Legal Services Firm award at The National Housing Awards 2019 and is recognised by Chambers UK and The Legal 500 as a highly ranked firm for social housing legal advice.
