Penningtons Manches Cooper maritime specialist speaks at North Sea Operators’ Claims Conference

Posted: 07/10/2019

Marine, trade and energy partner, John Strange, has been invited to present to the North Sea Operators’ Claims Conference (NSOCC) which takes place on 7 and 8 October 2019 in Ipswich. Running for more than 40 years, the NSOCC is an annual forum for discussing matters of common interest to those operating in the North Sea, the Baltic and the Irish Sea.

Attendees at the forum will include shipowners, P&I clubs, marine surveyors, shipping lawyers and other experts from Northern Europe and across the UK. The aim of the conference is to tackle a wide range of industry issues with a general focus on claims matters, and to promote best practice through education.

John, who has in-depth experience of maritime problems, particularly those concerning the cruise, ferry, superyachts and offshore industry sectors, will discuss cruise and ferry passenger rights to compensation for cancellation and delay. He will give an overview of the legislation that relates to passenger rights, the operators’ obligations and the exceptions.

The cruise and ferry industry is a key area of focus for Penningtons Manches Cooper both in its UK and international offices, and the firm provides advice to many of the major passenger carriers operating globally.
