Penningtons Manches Cooper gains multiple nominations and scoops private client gong at The Legal 500 UK 2020 awards

The depth and high quality of Penningtons Manches Cooper's service offering has been acknowledged at this year's Legal 500 UK awards, with the firm gaining nominations in six categories across its commercial, IP and IT, finance, private client and real estate practices. A special commendation was reserved for the private client team which won the award for private client firm of the year outside London.

The Legal 500 UK awards are considered to be unique in the legal industry as they recognise each element of the profession equally, representing law firms, chambers, barristers, in-house lawyers, business leaders and general counsel operating within the UK market. They are the culmnation of many months of resarch and over 70,000 interviews with in-house counsel, law firms and sets in the UK to pinpont those practitioners operating at the top of their game across a range of different business sectors.

In addition to winning plaudits for its private client offering, Penningtons Manches Cooper was shortlisted for finance (South East) firm of the year; finance (East Anglia) firm of the year; and real estate (South East) firm of the year. There was also recognition on an individual level for partners Michael Cash and Joanne Vengadesan who were shortlisted for private client individual of the year and technology, media and telecoms individual of the year respectively.

Penningtons Manches Cooper was recommended in a total of 68 legal fields in the 2020 edition of The Legal 500 which was published in October. Over 30 of the firm’s lawyers appeared in the publication’s elite list of ‘leading lawyers’ while a further 116 were ranked as ‘recommended lawyers’. The directory describes the firm as a ‘class act team’ and ‘extremely thorough and professional in everything they do’ while the award-winning private client practice is praised for being ‘very personable and able to relate to clients easily’.

The Legal 500 will be hosting an exclusive event in central London on 27 February 2020, where the winners of its UK 2020 awards will have the opportunity to meet with each other, network and celebrate their success.
