Penningtons Manches partners with Aspiring Solicitors

Penningtons Manches is pleased to announce its partnership with the award winning Aspiring Solicitors, an organisation committed to increasing diversity in the legal profession.

Aspiring Solicitors, which was founded in 2013 by Chris White, targets individuals looking for a career in law through its three long term goals: to provide free access, opportunity and assistance to students from underrepresented groups; to educate and inform the next generation of the legal profession about the importance of diversity; and to promote and encourage diversity within the profession.

Diversity and inclusion plays a key part in Penningtons Manches’ growth strategy; the firm believes that a diverse workforce generates vitality within the business and helps support equal opportunity through all stages of recruitment and employment. It has a number of working groups focusing on different areas, led by several prominent partners.

The firm’s commitment in this area has been recognised through a number of recent achievements, including being awarded a gold practice standard for its latest Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter submission, climbing over 100 places in the latest Stonewall equality index rankings in recognition of improved LGBTQ+ equality and being shortlisted for AllAboutLaw’s Diversity and Inclusion Award.

The partnership with Aspiring Solicitors will include presentations from Chris White to Penningtons Manches employees and partners about the initiative, staff involvement in the Aspiring Solicitors professional ambassador programme, and hosting information days to offer an introduction to life at the firm.
