Penningtons Manches’ charities team shortlisted for two high profile awards

Posted: 27/07/2018

The specialist charities team at Penningtons Manches has been nominated for Charity Law Firm of the Year in the Third Sector Awards and Advisory Provider of the Year at the Charity Times Awards in recognition of its work in the sector.

The Third Sector Awards, running for more than a decade, showcase organisations that are creative, innovative and effective. The ceremony hosted by Charity Times magazine commends best practice in UK charity and not-for-profit organisations. Both awards require the team to demonstrate the impact of its work.

Ranked by Chambers UK and The Legal 500, the charities team brings together a group of highly experienced experts with a clear goal to combine common sense service with a deep understanding of clients’ charitable motivation and priorities.

The team is committed to developing and supporting thought leadership in the sector and hosted a first-of-its-kind conference, The Legacy Conversation, earlier this year.  The conference was a direct outcome of the team’s 2017 successful report, Bridging the Gap, which explored the relationship between charities and probate practitioners.

The project brought some deeply-felt tensions to the surface, but it has also enabled both charities and probate practitioners to recognise that challenges are not insurmountable, and that much good can come out of a collaborative approach to tackling issues head on.

Marketing and development director Rolland Keane says: “We are delighted that our charities team has been recognised by the Third Sector Awards and Charity Times magazine for the second year in a row.  It’s very rewarding for them to see their hard work acknowledged.”

The Third Sector Awards ceremony will take place on 20 September and the awards for Charity Times magazine will take place on 3 October, both in central London.
