Penningtons Manches advises hospitality industry leader on cross-border acquisition

The corporate team at Penningtons Manches has advised QSR Automations on its acquisition of the QSR Automations division of UK based Call Systems Technology. The deal, which involved a complex tax driven restructuring of CST prior to acquisition, will help expand and accelerate business for QSR.

Headquartered in the US, QSR Automations is the hospitality industry leader in kitchen automation and guest management solutions. QSR software and hardware solutions are installed in more than 70,000 sites worldwide and seat more than two million diners every day. CST, the exclusive European strategic partner of QSR Automations, is the UK's leading supplier of on-site wireless communications systems and was the first company to introduce restaurant paging to the UK hospitality market.

Corporate partner Matthew Martin led the Penningtons Manches team, assisted by Alex Dempster, Hester Jewitt and tax specialist Stephen Goldstraw.

This deal is the latest in a series of high profile corporate transactions undertaken by the firm’s corporate team. Following 140 deal completions in 2017 with an aggregate value of £1.5 billion, the team continues to build on this strong performance in 2018.
