STEP honours ‘exceptional’ private client lawyer Chris Lintott

Chris Lintott, senior counsel in Penningtons Manches’ private client team, has been awarded the STEP Founder’s Award. STEP is the leading worldwide organisation for private client practitioners, with over 22,000 members worldwide. The Founder’s Award is given to individuals who have made ‘an exceptional and outstanding long-term contribution to STEP above and beyond that normally expected of a member’.

In Chris’ case, the award was in recognition of his service on the STEP City of London committee for nearly 20 years, including eight years as chair; his membership of the worldwide Council of STEP; and his chairmanship of the Business Families Special Interest Group for nine years, from its inception.

Given the firm’s commitment to encouraging the development of young practitioners, it is a particular source of satisfaction that the citation for the award made specific mention of Chris’ concern for promoting opportunities for the next generation.

The award comes at the end of another successful year for the private client team, which has included being nominated for the 2018 Citywealth Magic Circle Award for Law Firm of the Year, recognition in the latest editions of two leading sector publications, Chambers High Net Worth and the Citywealth Leaders List and a ranking in eprivateclient’s ‘Top 25 Law Firms’ for the eighth consecutive year. Four of the team’s lawyers also feature as ‘rising stars’ in the Citywealth Future Leaders 100 for 2017.
