Penningtons Manches advises the shareholders of UK’s leading ready meal manufacturer to private equity vehicle

The corporate team at Penningtons Manches has acted for the shareholders of Oscar Mayer Group on its sale to a new vehicle set up by German private equity fund, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG.

Oscar Mayer is the UK market leader in the manufacture and distribution of chilled ready meals and snacks for private label brands and large grocery stores including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons, and The Co-operative. The group, which began as a South London butcher in 1935, operates four sites across England and Wales and employs 2650 people.

Partner Matt Martin led the team, assisted by Gemma Davis and Katarina Hrabovska. He said: “It has been a pleasure working with John Bigwood and the other shareholders on this deal, which opens new doors for the group but allows them to continue to be involved in its development.”
