Penningtons Manches has been awarded a gold practice standard for its latest Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter submission, reflecting its continued involvement in a range of initiatives aimed at achieving greater diversity at all levels.
The charter is designed by the Law Society to help firms turn their commitment to diversity and inclusion into positive, practical action. It enables them to measure their activities, policies and procedures against a set of diversity and inclusion standards and provides them with opportunities to share best practice advice with colleagues from other organisations. Over 450 firms have now signed up to the charter, representing more than a third of the legal profession in England and Wales.
Feedback from Penningtons Manches’ 2017 submission highlighted the degree to which the firm facilitates flexible working, the amount of senior level involvement in its diversity and inclusion programme, its effective monitoring procedures and strong emphasis on procurement and supplier diversity. There was also high praise for its culture, vision and staff development.
Overall, Penningtons Manches’ rankings significantly exceeded the standard performance metrics set for top 100 law firms and other large legal practices.
